in celebration of fall, i decided to mix up the blog with a new template...i love the orange and browns of fall. someone at work called me festive because i brought in a jack-o-lantern bucket and filled it with candy on my desk. also i have an "everything" tree in my office....it's a fiber optic christmas tree but i threw the box away and have nowhere to store it at work. so, each holiday, i find some garland or something like garland and put on the tree in celebration of the holiday. nice conversation piece at work. more confirmation to them that i'm a looney tune...but you all already knew that... tomorrow i'll hang up the halloween decorations at home. maybe i'll change the blog with all of the seasons...yummy
i got a new phone...i've needed, ok...wanted....a pda phone for quite sometime. my other phone was getting ready to commit phoneicide if i didn't put it out of it's misery soon. I got the moto q - the cheapest pda i could get. it's fabulous....i love new toys...i'm not really a technology geek (i leave that to brad and shari) but i love this thing....and unlimited internet...i can look up anything from anywhere...so very cool...as brad says, i can now look up things to prove him wrong from anywhere :-) .... today we went to the neptune festival at the oceanfront....we visited the art/craft show, the sandcastle competition, and a minature golf course. i got some pictures with my new phone, but they are still on the phone so i can't post them at this moment. then we went to luna maya...yummmmmmmmm.
dad created a blog...so now we can stay updated on goings on in iowa. the link is on my list, although, he's still in the "getting started" phase.
i bought new flowers for the flower beds this week...going to plant them tomorrow. some orange and yellow gerber daisies, some red-orangey mums, some yellow mums, and purple aster. purple is not really a fall color, but they were pretty plants.
do i need new teams? Jr. didn't make the chase; hopefully being part of a winning team next year will help (that reminds me, i have to change my license plates before next racing season). notre dame can't win to save their lives. iowa got beat by indiana today (won't heare the end of that at work next week).....UNI won thankfully -- they are 5-0 -- these are days i wish i was in iowa...or wish i had a jet that i could fly to all of their games---i love uni football. hopefully the cowboys will win this week.
new job training next week - i am more than elated about living life like a real person again--i wasn't hating 2nd shift as much as others were hating it for me, but since i got the job, i am having trouble containing my excitement about the great hours. depending on how they work out my training schedule, i may only have to work 2nd shift on sun and mon so i can train on thurs and fri. wed i have to go in to meet and greet the regional executive team.
we got the "sports" room 80% done. brad got it painted (i know, you really miss the horrid blue and green paint and the lizard border). we got all of things that can be hung up on the wall up. we moved the computer in and have a tv here. next to move all of the books and office stuff here and make the 2nd bedroom more of a bedroom (no for crying out loud, i'm not pregnant yet)...just getting our house "just the way we want it". we still have knick knack things that need to be put on shelves, so next week i need to do some shelf scoping.
when we went to casa bonita in colorado, we bought sammy a new hat -- we've been looking for one for a while - he hates dressing up - he put this on his head long enough to take a picture and immediately after click, he flung it off...he eventually ended up on my lap..i'm sure he was thinking, 'if you're going to torture me, at least let me be in my favorite place'....still on the lookout for a taco dog toy, so we can teach him "yo quiero taco bell" to which of course, he will fetch the taco. he won't mind, he loves fetch and he loves toys. He also got a new bat toy to (of course) have a toy for the next "holiday". He just loves tearing up the bat.
why are all my words not capitalized? i'm lazy today...that's not new :-)
I like the fall colors. I love this time of year. We slept with the windows open last night and everything. See you next Sunday at Jim's for football.

ReplyDeleteI just noticed that everyone has answered "fall" in your poll. I think you should post the same question again in April and see if everyone changes their answers to "spring" :) hahaha. although i'm a big fan of pumpkin, apple and football so it might tough for me to switch even after a long, rainy winter ;)
