About Me

Brad and started dating in April of 1995. We got hitched on August 14, 1999. We both graduated from the University of Northern Iowa. In 2001, we moved to Virginia for my job. We loved Virginia, but in 2009 we got an opportunity for my job in Iowa. We went ahead and took it. We knew what we were getting into by moving to Iowa and some family situations told us it was the right time. I work in food distribution and Brad is a data analyst. We have two puppy children, Sammy the Chihuahua and Sophie the Dachshund. In 2011, we became foster parents and had 2 kiddos live with us for 6 months. Two months later, two loves of our lives moved in and we adopted them in February 2013.

I'm a wife: I love my husband more than the day I married him. We've been through some rough times and great times, but he's always been my best friend through it all.

I'm a puppy-momma: I wanted a Chihuahua forever. It all worked out one winter in Virginia. We brought Sammy home and he is my little buddy and my unconditional love disher outer. Sophie frolicked into our lives near the end of 2008. She's such a daddy's dog...they are so cute.

I'm a sister, daughter, granddaughter, aunt, cousin, niece, and various other family tags. I am fiercely loyal to my family. You mess with them, you mess with me. I've done some pretty crazy stuff for my family.

I'm a friend: I'm also fiercely loyal to my friends. I keep in contact with as many people as I can. It may not always be often, but between email, Facebook, calls, and Christmas cards, I love catching up on people's lives.

I'm a Scorpio: nearly 100% - being born under that sign, here are things you can expect from me: Scorpios are very deep, intense people; They present a cool, detached and unemotional air to the world yet lying underneath is tremendous power, extreme strength, intense passion and a strong will and a persistent drive.  They always want to know why, where and any other possible detail they can possibly know.  Scorpio’s are very weary of the games that other people try to play and they are very aware of it. Scorpios tend to dominate and control; The person that a Scorpio respects and holds close to them is treated with amazing kindness, loyalty and generosity. Their personalities are truly magnetic, yet they can be aggressive and unpredictable, like a volcano.  Just like the mythological Phoenix, they burn themselves down and then they revive from the ashes. Their passion is overwhelming.Scorpio is known for having a very strong imagination and keen intuition, but this is a very jealous sign as well, and sometimes cannot forget or forgive emotional rejection. I'm a UNI alum: I bleed purple & gold (on the days I don't bleed blue and silver). I don't care that my college is smaller than IA or IA St. I loved my college days, I love the campus, I love the dome and I love being around it again.

Music: It feeds my soul. I can't play any instruments to save my life, but I almost always have to have music playing. I love all kinds of music from jazz to heavy metal. It all depends on mood.

Movies: I love watching them. I don't make nearly enough time for it.

Beach: Oh how I miss the beach. Listening to the water and smelling the salt in the air create calm like nothing else can. My plan is to retire to one or at least have a house on one when I retire.

The Dallas Cowboys: I bleed silver and blue. Sometimes they suck, sometimes they don't. I talk trash about football alot, even when we are probably going to lose. Without trash talk, conversations with Vikings fans would be boring.

Concerts: There is nothing like a sweet rock guitar and someone smashing away on a drum kit. When I went to my first concert (the Jets) the dynamic from the crowd was so overwhelming I never wanted to leave. Knowing the words to a few of their songs made it even more fun. Living in VA allowed me to see so many of my favorite artists.

Running: I started 'running' in May of 2008 after attending a half marathon to cheer on my friends. After moving to IA, it's been a lot harder to be into the season due to my schedule, but I continue to rock some 5k's on the weekends.
