can you say relaxing?

this morning we left home at 715 (sad to leave Sammy behind) and headed to pick up Doug. We then stopped at Wawa for breakfast and gas (seriously!? $4.19???). We sat in the Amtrak station in Colonial WIlliamsburg and caught up on what has been going on in our worlds....We left the station at 930 and got to Philly at 430. I was reading, listening to my (fully loaded with great songs) iPod, and played Farkel with Bradley. In DC, we had an extended stop, so Doug and I got out to warm up...yes warm up....We were traveling on the SS Antarctica....

After about a 15 minute break we reboarded train #94....our adventure started out fun because traffic was crap and Shari was in the middle of the road in front of the station and wasn't even able to move or make it to the driveway to pick us up....So in a variation of a chinese fire drill we ran out into the street is as she popped the back of the car...We threw our luggage in and jumped in the car before the stop light turned red....Only in Philadelphia!

Then we stopped at the house for a bit...then went to get groceries and cocktail ingredients...then we picked up Joe from next door and went to a Sushi bar for yummy Japanese food. Joe and Shari frequent this place so often that they know the people who run it...so it was a great time. And they played Guns n Roses ...how cool is that.

Then to Joe and Diana's next door to visit for a while ... now Brad is golfing on Wii and Doug and I are playing on Facebook. Soon to bed for a "tourist-y" day in Philly.

T -3 days until the PRIDE parade.

Goodnight from Philly.

  1. It sounds like a vacation is in order! Hope you have a great time and don't forget to relax! Sometimes I've come home from vacation more tired than when I went! ;-)
