PRIDE Weekend in Philly & NYC

Here are several pictures from our trip to Philly. We went up on a Thursday with Doug via Amtrak and stayed in Philly all weekend and went into New York City on Sunday for the PRIDE parade. We had such a great weekend.

Us at the Amtrak station in Williamsburg

Doug and his first Amtrak train

Eating at Umai...Doug, Shari, Chef Paul, me, Joe, and Brad

Us at Reading Terminal Market ~ It was even better than I thought it would be!

A beautiful park in downtown Philly...Rittenhouse Square.

One of the places we went to was the Mutter Museum. The sign says it's "Disturbing Informative". Indeed it was...It's a place of medical oddities...some are made of wax and some of them are real..like actual body parts...It disturbing, but it was so intriguing....

Us with the Rocky statue

The stairs Rocky ran up at the Philly Museum of Art

Me and Doug at the top of the stairs & a view of the skyline.

Penn football stadium ~~ We also drove through Penn and saw the Wharton School of Business. It was an area with a great college feel!

Another view of the skyline

Penn again.

So we drove through West Philly...And started singing the the tune to Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.."In West Philadelphia, born and raised...."
Then we went to dinner for pizza and cheesesteaks

A moment of silence at the start of the parade. We watched the parade in front of the Stonewall Inn where the movement started in 1969.
