Today's Writing Prompt: Scared

Write about something that scared you as a child.

I have always had a lot of fears, but the scariest one was that my dad, who is a police officer, wouldn't come home at night. There were nights that I would pray and pray and pray that he would be ok. I was convinced that if I prayed hard enough it would be enough to protect him if he ran into any really bad people or, since he works in Iowa, any really bad weather.
