random andrea

today i got back from Richmond. I was there overnight for a leadership training session. 5 of my co-workers and i jumped in a minivan and went on this mini road trip. we cracked jokes at each other's expense, learned about ourselves yesterday, learned more about ourselves and each other at dinner, went to the "library" after dinner, learned more about ourselves today, and then jumped back in the van to crack jokes again and learn yet even more. it was a really fun trip -- quite intense learning at times -- but so very worth it and very enlightening. i truly haven't enjoyed the people i work with this much since i worked at affina. it's refreshing to enjoy those around you while you are at work.

i am feeling much better after my tumble down the stairs...i'm really glad i went to see dr. miller before going out of town. thursday i think i can get back to the gym for pilates, friday for yoga, and hopefully will have fully recovered before step class on saturday.

check back in for my new reading blog on the right hand column. It's started but not really running yet.

i saw an oprah today that was very interesting about "freegans". i will certainly not be dumpster diving with these folks, but it really made me think about all of the things we buy that we don't need.

me and the loves of my life

sammy and his cow from uncle jarrod

a couple of weeks ago, we watched our friend's Mike and Lisa's kids...we had a fun time even in the short time we spent :-)
chris, ashley, nicholas, and me -- our self photo

nicholas trying to get out of the "bridge"

chris trying to get out of the "bridge"

the boys would run around the coffee table and say "open the bridge please!" and brad would lift up his legs...sometimes the bridge would capture them and they would have to ask really, really nicely for the bridge to lift .... they had so much fun!

and sammy got into it, too! he started running around the table chasing the boys...too funny
a picture from this weekend...sammy was laying on the couch upside down...i could resist the urge to "tuck" him in...he was so over the camera and wanting to take a nap..isn't he cute?!

  1. Juliet has some freegan friends. She told me if I ever go to her house for a party, she will direct me to the food that is "ok" to eat. I just can't get into eating anything from a dumpster. ICKY!

  2. Andrea, Ryan told me about your fall. I hope you are feeling better! I love the pics of you, Bradley, and the kids. You guys are SO ready to be parents. You'll be naturals! By the way, I'll be walking with Hanah on Sunday at the canal, if you feel up to it and want to come along. I'm still not 100% pain-free... Hope to see you soon!

  3. I have been reading some books by Dave Ramsey that attack the problem of "stuffitis" within our culture. It is interesting to see the sociological trends and the marketing that "helps" it along. Let me know if you want the titles :o)
